Asst Prof Bettina Lieske graduated from Friedrich Schiller University, Jena, Germany in 2000. Prior to commencing her surgical training in the UK, she went on to attain a research degree (Doctor Medicinae) in 2003 from Friedrich Schiller University.
She completed her Basic Surgical Training as well as her Higher Surgical Training in the UK. After her final year of training in the Department of Colorectal Surgery at Oxford University Hospitals, she was awarded FRCS in 2010 and Certificate of Completion of Training in 2011.
During her time as a surgical trainee, she developed an interest in Medical Education. She obtained a Diploma in Medical Education (Dundee) in 2008 and was subsequently awarded an Oxford Educational Fellowship, leading to an MA Clinical Education in 2011.
Asst Prof Bettina is currently a Consultant with the Division of Colorectal Surgery at the National University Hospital.
